GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 15) - Saint Vincent freshman women's tennis player
Shayla Landman has earned Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors after leading the Bearcats to a 14-0 record and first regular season conference championship.
A native of Mount Pleasant, Pa., and a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Landman wrapped up conference play last week with a perfect 9-0 record in singles action. Against previously-unbeaten Westminster, the freshman dropped her first singles set of the season en route to a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win at second singles.
This season, Landman is 14-0 in singles play, including 13 wins at second singles and one win at first singles. She has also posted an 11-3 mark at first doubles with partner junior
Amanda Gans.
Landman and the Bearcats now look to win the first conference championship in program history at the PAC Championship Tournament held at the Pennbriar Athletic Club in Erie, Pa., on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19-20.
