SVC falls to University of Mary Washington in NCAA Tennis matchup

The Saint Vincent women's tennis team ended its season with a 5-0 loss to the University of Mary Washington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. 

UMW, ranked #27 in the nation, swept doubles play then won two singles matches.  Under NCAA Tournament rules, the match is stopped when one team reaches five wins.

SVC's #1 doubles team of Amanda Gans and Shayla Landman lost 8-2 to Lindsay Raulston and Shelby Harris.  In the #2 position, Stephanie Rubin and Jacquelyn Hauser lost 8-0 to Mackenzie Smith and Alina Suyama.  Jessica McKetta and Kylie Auman fell 8-0 to Alexandra Ritter and Christina Gaul.

In singles play, Gans lost 6-2, 6-2, while Landman lost by scores of 6-1 and 6-3.

Saint Vincent, which compiled a 14-0 record in the fall and won the Presidents' Athletic Conference, ends the year with an overall record of 15-5.
