The Saint Vincent College Athletic Department announces the hiring of Brian Niemiec as Head Men's Tennis Coach.

Niemiec replaces Jim Bendel, who guided the team as acting head coach through the final month of the 2017 season following the passing of longtime head coach Enrico Campi.

At age 21, Niemiec becomes one of the youngest head coaches in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).  The 2017 Saint Vincent graduate is excited to begin his first coaching assignment. "I want to be able to keep Enrico's legacy going here at Saint Vincent," said Niemiec, a three-year member of the Bearcats under Campi.  "My coaching style will be similar to that of Coach Campi.  I had nothing but respect for him and how he ran the program, and I want to keep things moving in that same direction."

Under Coach Campi, the Bearcats have found success in recent years in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, including back-to-back PAC Player of the Year awards for Jonathan Prichard.

Niemiec, a native of Jeannette and graduate of Penn-Trafford High School, assumes head coaching duties immediately, and can be reached at brian.niemiec@stvincent.edu.
