LATROBE, Pa. (Feb. 2) - For the second-straight year, Saint Vincent senior forward Brittany Sedlock was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District IV First Team, announced the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Sedlock, a native of Northern Cambria, Pa., and a graduate of Northern Cambria High School, now advances to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot with her first-team recognition.

The defending-Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Year currently leads the league with 15.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. She ranks second in the conference in free-throw percentage (.795) and is among the PAC leaders in most statistical categories.

Earlier this season, she became the 23rd player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau for her career and currently ranks 12th on the all-time scoring list with 1,289 points.

In the classroom, the 5-9 senior boasts a 4.0 grade-point average while working toward her degree in mathematics education. She has been selected to the Dean's List in each semester at Saint Vincent as well as being a three-time PAC Academic Honor Roll honoree.

To be eligible for the award, voted on by Sports Information Directors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.30 GPA or higher and must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games and be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic and academic credentials.

For the first time this season, CoSIDA has recognized four separate divisions within each district. They are NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the College (NAIA) Division. District IV includes all NCAA Division III schools in the state of Pennsylvania.

The Academic All-America teams will be released later this month.
