MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Mar. 12) - Saint Vincent senior forward
Brittany Sedlock was named First-Team All-Great Lakes Region for a consecutive year by D3hoops.com, announced the organization.
A native of Northern Cambria, Pa., and a graduate of Northern Cambria High School, Sedlock led the Presidents' Athletic Conference in both scoring (16.7 points per game) and rebounding (11.1 rebounds per game) this season.
The 5-9 forward was recently named a finalist for the Jostens Trophy, given annually to the most outstanding player in NCAA Division III, as well as being a Capital One First-Team Academic All-American. Sedlock was also recognized as a D3hoops Fourth-Team All-American last year and a Preseason Second-Team All-American this season. In each of her final two seasons with the Bearcats, she was named the PAC Player of the Year while also being a member of the All-PAC First Team.
This season, Sedlock helped the Bearcats to their second-straight NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament appearance in two years a full-time member of the division. SVC finished the season 22-7 overall with a 15-3 record in PAC action.
For her career, Sedlock appeared in 110 games, making 100 starts. She finished her four-year career with 1,462 points (13.3 per game), good for eighth in program history. She also closed out her time with the team by pulling down 943 rebound (8.8 per game), dishing out 211 assists (1.9 per game) and recording 216 steals (2.0 per game).
Players were nominated and voted for by the Sports Information Directors at the various institutions. A total of 683 players, representing both men and women, were nominated this season, a new high for all-region nominees. The D3hoops.com All-America teams will be released later this week.
