In Saint Vincent’s victory at Chatham on Friday night, sophomore Emma Martz swam the lead-off leg on the Bearcats’ victorious 200 medley relay squad, which finished in 1:59.34, before she earned a first-place finish in the 50 freestyle (26.35 seconds) and a 26-second victory in the 400 individual medley, with a time of 4:57.15. The next day, in the Bearcats’ sweep of Franciscan and Bethany, Martz earned a 4-second victory in the 100 freestyle (57.38 seconds) and a 3-second win in the 100 backstroke (1:05.86), while she again swam the leadoff backstroke leg for the Bearcats’ winning 200 medley relay squad (1:59.34).
