Lady Bearcats blank Muskies

The Saint Vincent women's soccer team earned its first win of the season, shutting out Muskingum College 2-0.

The Lady Bearcats' Allison Rostad scored her first collegiate goal off of a corner kick 18 minutes into the game, giving SVC a 1-0 lead at halftime, before another freshman, Tenesha Corrales, connected for her first career goal just 10 seconds into the second half to give the Lady Bearcats some insurance.

For the game, Muskingum out-shot SVC 21-10, but the Muskies managed to hit the net just five times, with SVC goalie Kirstie Mills stopping all five shots to pick up the shutout victory.

The victory moves the Lady Bearcats' record to 1-5-2 on the season.  The team returns to action on Wednesday, traveling to Johnstown, PA to take on NCAA Division-II Pitt-Johnstown at 4pm.
