BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 15) - The Saint Vincent women's soccer team fell behind early, 1-0, but rebounded to score the final two goals of the game to earn a 2-1 victory over Bethany in Presidents' Athletic Conference action.
After the Bison took the lead just over two minutes in to play, the two teams battled until the 35:58-mark when sophomore
Tenesha Corrales stole a Bethany pass and notched her third goal of the season to tie the game, 1-1. With under 15 minutes left to play in the second half, sophomore
Jennifer Kisner scored her first goal of the season on an assist from freshman
Abbey Neish on a ball that went lower-left corner just past the reach of the Bethany keeper.
For the game, the Bison out-shot the Bearcats, 14-7, while SVC recorded the only two corner kicks of the evening. Kisner led the team with two shots.
Senior goalkeeper
Kirstie Mills earned the win, making seven saves in 90 minutes of action.
With the win, the Bearcats improve to 6-7-1 overall and 2-3 in conference action. Bethany drops to 7-6 on the season and 3-2 in the PAC.
SVC returns home on Wednesday, Oct. 19 to host Thomas More in a PAC match on the SVC Turf at 3:30 p.m.
