Elly Colvin posted her third goal of the season, and second game-winner, as the Bearcats earned a 1-0 victory over Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on Senior Day at the SVC Turf.
The Saint Vincent women's soccer team played Thiel to a scoreless first half despite holding an 8-2 edge in shots in the opening period. At the 65:25-mark, Colvin took a pass from classmate
Abbey Neish and snuck a shot under the crossbar to record the eventual game-winner.
SVC held Thiel without a shot in the second half, finishing the match with a 15-2 edge on shots. The Bearcats also took more corner kicks than the Tomcats, 6-1. Colvin, Neish and sophomore
Monika Derboghossian each paced the SVC with four shots on the afternoon.
Senior goalkeeper
Kirstie Mills posted her fourth shutout of the season en route to posting her 22nd-career win. She made two saves in 90 minutes.
With the win, the Bearcats improve to 7-8-1 on the season and 3-4 in the PAC. Meanwhile, Thiel falls to 5-11-2 overall and 1-6 in league play.
Saint Vincent travels to Grove City on Wednesday, Oct. 26 for a 1 p.m. match with the Wolverines.
