Early goal sinks Bearcats, 1-0



BOX SCORE

LATROBE (Oct. 10) - Waynesburg scored the game's only goal just over six minutes in to defeat the Saint Vincent women's soccer team, 1-0, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on the SVC Turf.

With the loss, the Bearcats fall to 8-4 and 1-3 in the PAC after dropping three-straight league games. Waynesburg improves to 7-6 on the season and 3-1 in the conference.

The Yellow Jackets scored at the 6:10-mark when Missy Coleman was assisted by Emily Mullady to put the only goal on the board for the game.

In total, SVC held a 16-11 advantage on shots, with junior Tenesha Corrales leading the way with three shots. Juniors Rebecca Sandor and Jennifer Kisner, sophomores Lindsey Daniels and Abbey Neish and freshman Emily Johns each posted two shots.

Junior goalkeeper Cassie Overly suffered the loss, making two saves in 90 minutes. Waynesburg's Ciara Scott registered six saves in the shutout.

SVC will next be in action on Saturday, Oct. 13, hosting PAC-foe Bethany at 4:15 p.m.
