After a scoreless first half in the rain, the Westminster Titans outscored Saint Vincent 17-6 in the second half in Presidents' Athletic Conference action in New Wilmington.

In the first quarter, the Titans appeared poised to score, but the Bearcat defense made three straight stops from the 2-yard-line, then a missed field goal kept the game scoreless.

Early in the second, a Westminster fumble was recovered by SVC's Jake Keller at the 30-yard-line.  Three plays later, Bearcat quarterback Matt Deakins connected with Ricky Douglas for a 17-yard gain to the Westminster two, but disaster struck on the next play.  Deakins was hit just as he released the ball, and Taylor Heinrich made the interception at the one-yard-line, ending the scoring threat.

In the third, Manny Speal, who stepped in for one play while Deakins had repairs made to his helmet, was intercepted by the Titans' Derrick Orloski  at the Bearcat 40.  Orloski then returned the ball to the 29, setting up a nine-play drive for the Titans, capped by a Dak Britt pass to Connor Kobis covering five yards for the score.

Near the beginning of the fourth, the Bearcat defense forced the Titans to punt in their own territory, and Dwayne Brown came through for the block, giving SVC the ball at the Westminster 5-yard-line.  Two plays later, Rayford Wyder's first carry of the day resulted in a three-yard TD run.  However, Morgan Porter's extra point attempt was blocked, and SVC trailed, 7-6.

On the ensuing drive, the Titans marched down the field, aided by the Bearcat personal foul penalty, eventually scoring on a 12-yard run by Tyler Banks.

The Titans added a late field goal to earn the 17-6 win.

Westminster controlled the ground game throughout the evening, out-rushing Saint Vincent by a 224-67 margin.  Banks carried the ball 26 times for 144 yards.  For SVC, Ryan Crawford had 14 carries for 37 yards, while Wyder added 20 yards on four carries.

Deakins was 11-for-23 through the air for the Bearcats, for 90 yards.  Ricky Douglas caught three passes for 29 yards.  Britt was 9-for-15 through the air for the Titans for 92 yards.

Renny La-Rue Holloman led the Bearcat defense with 10 tackles, while Keith Waddell recorded 8, and Dan Wirkowski had seven.

Saint Vincent falls to 0-4 (0-2 PAC) with the loss, and will be idle next week.  Westminster is now 2-1, 1-1 in the conference.
