A goal by junior Abbey Neish in the 81st minute broke up a scoreless tie and lifted Saint Vincent to a 1-0 win over Thiel College in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.

With the win, SVC improves to 7-6-1 on the season and 2-2-1 in the PAC. Thiel remains winless in the conference at 0-5 and falls to 6-8 this year.

Neish's goal came at the 79:20-mark when she found a rebound in front of the keeper and buried it to send SVC to the victory.

It was one of the 11 shots the Bearcats took in the second half, compared to just one for the Tomcats. On the game, SVC out-shot Thiel, 16-4.

Senior Monika Derboghossian led SVC with five shots while Neish, junior Amie Dobracki and senior Lindsey Daniels each recorded two shots.

Senior goalkeeper Cassie Overly earned her fifth shutout of the season and 11th career, making three saves in 90 minutes.

SVC hits the road on Tuesday, Oct. 22 for a 7 p.m. PAC contest at Geneva.

NOTES: Before the game, SVC honored six seniors and one junior on Senior Day. The six seniors were Overly, Tenesha Corrales, Daniels, Rebecca Sandor, Jennifer Kisner and Derboghossian. The junior was Katherine Bieler.
