The Saint Vincent Bearcats defeated La Roche College on the road in Pittsburgh by a final score of 2-0 in non-conference play.

SVC played well offensively in the first half, tallying 15 shots.  But it wasn't until that 15th shot, which came with just under a minute remaining in the half, that the Bearcats took the lead.  Brittany Schaller scored with 59 ticks left on the clock to put the visitors ahead, 1-0.

Twenty minutes into the second half, Meghan Smith intercepted a pass inside the 18 yard box and scored to give SVC an insurance goal.

For the day, the Bearcats outshot the Redhawks by a 22-13 margin.  Cassie Overly made five saves and earned the shutout win in the net.

Saint Vincent is now 3-2 on the year and will return home on Sunday to host Carlow University, a former rival from SVC's days in the NAIA, at 2:30PM.
