BOX SCOREALTOONA, Pa. (Sept. 14) - Despite battling back to tie the match in the second half, the Saint Vincent women's soccer team lost 2-1 on the road to Penn State Altoona.

Meghan Smith scored her second goal in as many matches just a little more than a minute into the second half to tie the match at a goal apiece. However, Penn State Altoona answered with a goal by Shoshana Mahoney in the 64th minute and held off the Bearcats for the victory. The Lions (1-4) as a team outshot the Bearcats 23-to-7 in the match. Meghan Lyden recorded six saves in the loss for Saint Vincent.
The Bearcats (0-6) return to action when they host Muskingum University on Friday, Sept. 19. Match time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
