BOX SCOREPHOTO GALLERYLATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 30) - The Saint Vincent women's soccer team lost 1-0 to Oberlin College (Ohio) in a home match on the SVC Turf.
After battling through a scoreless first half, Oberlin tallied the lone goal of the match in the 59th minute of action when Gwennie Gardiner found the back of the net. Saint Vincent went scoreless for the third straight match and it was the sixth straight loss by just a single goal.
Despite the loss, the Bearcats held an 11-to-7 advantage in shots for the match. Seven different Bearcat players registered at least one shot. SVC was led offensively by junior forward
Meghan Smith, who tallied a team-best three shots. Sophomore goalkeeper
Meghan Lyden played all 90 minutes in net, making two saves.
Saint Vincent is back in action when they open Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Chatham. Match time between the Bearcats and Cougars is set for 1 p.m.
