LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 7) - The Saint Vincent College women's soccer team allowed an early goal and fell 1-0 to Franciscan University in Latrobe, Pa.

The visiting Barons scored the game's only goal when Jordan Byrley found the back of the net on a header after a pass from Julia Cocozza. The goal came just 5:30 into the match and that was all the Barons would need to earn the victory. Shots and scoring opportunities were hard to come by in the match as the two teams combined for just 14 shots, with Franciscan outshooting Saint Vincent by a 9-5 margin.

Sophomore goalkeeper Meghan Lyden recorded seven saves in 90 minutes of work in net for Saint Vincent. The loss drops the Bearcats to 0-4 overall. The Bearcats return to action at home against La Roche College on Friday, Sept. 12. Match time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
