FULL RESULTS

LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 24) - The Saint Vincent swimming teams hosted Penn State-Altoona in non-conference action to open the home portion of the 2015-16 season. The SVC men won 158-50, while the women were victorious by a 155-71 score.

Leading the way on the women's side was freshman Maddie Bartrug, who set a new Resnik Pool record in the 100 Free. Bartrug touched the wall with a time of 53.69 for the first place finish. The freshman also finished in first place in the 50 Free, with a time of 25.00.

Bartrug also was on the 200 Medley Relay team that took first place. Ciara Lewis, Gabby Bobak and Sarah Sheldon rounded out the quartet that finished in 1:56.94. Teammates Bayle Shreve, Kat Guevara, Cassie Trudel and Marissa Frollo finished in second place in the event (2:00.81).

Frollo took home first place in the 200 Free with a time of 2:05.92. Trudel came in second place at 2:06.79.

Gianna Boburka finished in first in the 1000 Free, with a time of 12:14.50. Kelly Kramer was tops in the 100 Back, clocking in at 1:03.81. Grace Reynolds clamed first in the 100 Breaststroke, touching the wall in at 1:13.78. Guevara was second in 1:15.45.

Casi Smith finished in first place in the 200 Fly, with a time of 2:36.64. Meanwhile, Sheldon was tops in the 200 Back, at 2:21.60.

Bobak took the top spot in the 200 Breaststroke, clocking in at 2:41.52. Frollo was first in the 500 Free, finishing with a time of 5:49.19.

Kramer and Lewis had the two best times in the 400 IM, finishing at 5:03.76 and 5:08.67, respectively.

On the men's side, the Bearcats took the top three spots in the 200 Medley Relay. Jacob Davis, Kameron Faychak, Adam Gordish and Alex Bolen were in first with a time of 1:43.87.

Matt Crum was first in the 1000 Free, touching the wall at 10:52.16. Xander Emili and Sean Doyle were first and second in the 200 Free, with respective times of 1:51.74 and 1:55.84.

Davis came in first in the 100 Back with a time of 56.55, narrowly edging teammate Adam Gordish, who finished in 58.59. Davis also took first in the 200 Back, with a time of 2:07.87.

Justin Newman was first in the 100 Breaststroke, with a time of 1:09.17. Teammate Peter Becker came in at 1:09.56.

Alek Kraft finished in the top spot in the 200 Fly, touching the wall at 2:17.91. Matt Tashima had a time of 23.14 to take first in the 50 Free event. Bolen was tops in the 100 Free, with a time of 50.89.

Michael Marinchak came in with a time of 2:28.62 to finish first in the 200 Breaststroke event. Crum was first in the 500 Free, clocking in at 5:23.29.

The Bearcats open PAC play with a home match against Grove City College on Oct. 31. Meet time with the Wolverines is scheduled for 12 p.m.
