BOX SCOREPHOTO GALLERYLATROBE, Pa. (April 25) - The Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team rallied to defeat Thiel 14-10 victory in the inaugural Ohio River Lacrosse Conference Championship at Chuck Noll Field.
SVC erased a three goal deficit to score the final seven goals of the match and hold the Tomcats scoreless over the final 21:44 of play. The championship was the Bearcats second straight conference title, as they defeated Thiel last season in the PAC Championship.

Molly Snyder excelled in her final match. The Bearcats all-time leading scorer scored three goals and tallied eight assists for a total of 11 points. Freshman
Maggie Nelson scored a match-high five goals to set a new single season goal record. Nelson finished up with 66 goals in her first season with the Bearcats, breaking Alyssa Lang's previous single season record of 63 goals.
The Bearcats got off to a fast start, building a 6-2 lead with 16:47 to play in the first half. Nelson and Snyder each recorded two goals to help SVC to the lead. However, Thiel would respond with the final four goals of the half to tie the match at 6-6 at the break.
Nelson gave the Bearcats a 7-6 lead with a goal a little less than two minutes into the second half. Thiel would respond with the next four goals to take their first lead of the match and build that lead to 10-7 with 21:44 to play. That would be the Tomcats' final goal of the match. SVC slowly worked away at the deficit, scoring six goals in a seven minute stretch. Snyder cut it to 10-8 with an unassisted goal. Wallerstedt and Carroll both scored off assists from Snyder to draw the match even at 10-10.
Helena Shoplik gave the Bearcats the lead for good (11-10), tallying her first and only goal of the day, with 13:39 to play. Sophomore
Sarah Wallerstedt tallied a goal off an assist from Snyder to make it 12-10. Nelson added two more goals to help put the match on ice and give SVC the conference crown.
The Bearcats finished the season with 13 wins, establishing a new single-season record for wins.
