The SVC men's soccer team was unable to hold a second half lead, falling to La Roche College by a score of 6-4.
Kevin Proctor got the Bearcats on the board in the 35th minute, making a move to get around the goalkeeper for an unassisted goal.  He added another goal, assisted by
Zachary D'Amico, with just over 2 minutes remaining in the first half, giving the visiting Bearcats a 2-0 lead at the break.
The lead increased to three goals just over six minutes into the second half, when D'Amico tallied his first collegiate goal off an assist by
Nick Gaudy, but La Roche quickly came back, scoring three goals in the next 17 minutes to tie the game at 3-3.
The Bearcats regrouped, scoring in the 71st minute off a corner kick.
Christian Trueax sent the ball into play and Proctor completed his hat trick, putting SVC back in front 4-3.
The home team refused to give up, tying the game six minutes later on a penalty kick goal by Cole Quinio.  After a double yellow put SVC in a man down situation, La Roche took advantage. In the 87th minute, they took the lead when Tyler Grebur sent a cross into the box and Dave Hidinger headed it into the net to make the score 5-4.  Just over two minutes later, the Redhawks added an insurance goal to seal the win.
Saint Vincent is now 0-5 on the season and will return home to host Hood College on Sunday (September 13) at 2PM on the SVC Turf.
