LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 23) - Penn State Behrend gained control early and rolled to a 7-0 victory over Saint Vincent on the SVC Turf in non-conference action.
The visiting Lions scored goals in the 21st and 37th minute to gain a 2-0 halftime lead. Behrend put things away in the second half, scoring five goals in total, including three over the course of a four minute period.
Saint Vincent was led by
Zachary Kocak, who totaled three shots, all of which were on net. Junior
Kevin Proctor, the Bearcats top leading scorer had to fill in at goalkeeper. Proctor played the first half in net, allowing two goals and took the loss.
The Lions held a 29-5 advantage in shots, including 16-3 in shots on goal. Behrend attempted nine corner kicks to only two for Saint Vincent.
SVC drops to 1-7-1 overall, while Behrend improved to 6-1-1 overall.
The Bearcats return to action when they host Muskingum University on Saturday, Sept. 26. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
