NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 2) - The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team defeated Westminster College 14-7 in Ohio River Lacrosse Conference action.
The matchup was the first between the schools as the Westminster program is in its first season in 2016.
Saint Vincent built a 4-1 lead after the first and a 7-4 advantage at half. The Bearcats pulled away a bit in the third quarter, outscoring the Titans 4-0 to take a 11-4 advantage after 45 minutes. Both teams scored three goals in the fourth quarter.
Brendon Masten led the way with four goals and two assists to total six points.
Jeremy Kennedy also totaled six points (two goals, four assists), while
Anthony Hogeback recorded a team-best five assists to help aid the offense.
The Bearcats out-shot Westminster by a wide margin (53-19), including 31-12 on goal. The Bearcats also held advantages in ground balls (44-25) and face-off wins (17-8). The Bearcats converted four of six opportunities on the man-up.

Greg Gonzalez made five saves as he earned the win for SVC.
Saint Vincent improves to 2-1 in the conference and 3-5 overall. Westminster falls to 1-1 in the ORLC and 2-1 overall.
SVC travels to Franciscan University on Wednesday, April 6. Start time is slated for 5:30 p.m. in Ohio.
