The Thomas More Saints opened a 35-0 lead and cruised to a 63-13 victory over Saint Vincent in a Presidents' Athletic Conference football matchup in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
After the Bearcats were unable to move the ball on the game's opening possession,
Christian Witchey's punt was muffed by the Thomas More returner.Â

On first down, starting quarterback
Aaron Austin ran 11 yards to set up a first-and-goal, but the Bearcats were unable to push into the end zone. On fourth down,
Sam Elliott lined up for a field goal attempt, but then threw a pass to the end zone, where it was intercepted to end the drive.

Nine plays later, the hosts scored their first touchdown of the game, as Hjavier Pitts ran 26 yards to make it 6-0. The extra point made the score 7-0.

After SVC was forced to punt on its next possession, the Saints again put together a scoring drive to make it 14-0 late in the first quarter. After another Bearcat punt, the Saints again started a scoring drive, this time covering 81 yards in just five plays.Â

The Bearcats fumbled the ball on their next drive, and the Saints completed a 56-yard pass on the first play from scrimmage, taking a 28-0 lead.

Down 35-0 near the midway point of the third quarter, the Bearcats got on the board with a 91-yard touchdown pass from Austin to
Damon Black Jr on the first play of the drive. Black caught the ball near the 30 yard line, broke a tackle and went the distance. Elliott's point after made it 35-7.
The Saints added another score to increase the lead to 42-7 at the half.

Thomas More added a pair of third quarter touchdowns to make it 56-7 after three quarters.

Down 63-7, Saint Vincent added a late score thanks to the efforts of
Zavion Thompson and
Cooper Gibson. First, a block by Gibson allowed Thompson to find
Sam Nowicki for a 27-yard pass, then Gibson made an acrobatic catch for a 28-yard gain. Thompson then ran for a 5-yard touchdown to make it 63-13. Â
Austin led the Bearcats in the air and on the ground. Â He completed 10 of 17 passes for 146 yards, and rushed for 74 yards on 19 carries. Â Damon Black caught 7 passes for 129 yards. Â
Kim Ornis and
Martin Lessard led the defense with 8 tackles each.
