LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 29) - Junior midfielder Natalie Luppold scored early in the second half to guide the Saint Vincent women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Bethany College on a rainy Senior Day in Latrobe.

Saint Vincent dominated possession throughout but the contest was scoreless after a half of play despite a 14-0 shot advantage for the Bearcats.

The Bearcats finally broke through just minutes into the second half. A handball just outside of the box by the Bethany goalkeeper set up a free kick by Luppold in the 49th minute. The junior from West Newton, Pa. blasted took advantage, blasting the ball past the goalie in the top right corner of the net.

Saint Vincent made the goal stand up as they sent seniors Maggie Nelson, Lauren Czerwien and Michaela Lavy out with the PAC victory.

The Bearcats held a sizeable advantage in both shots (32-4) and shots on goal (12-0) during the 90 minutes. SVC also held a 7-4 edge in corner kicks and a 16-11 advantage in fouls.

Nelson recorded nine shots in her final game as a Bearcats, while Luppold chipped in seven shots including her game-winner. Juniors Kristin Marsh and Calsey Holshue added five shots each.

Junior goalkeeper Corinne Burk earned the victory in net over the Bison.
