LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 6) - The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team suffered a 12-1 defeat to top seeded Transylvania University in the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference championship game.
Saint Vincent closes out the season with a 9-9 overall record. Meanwhile, TU improves to 14-3 overall and claimed its third straight ORLC championship.
Junior midfielder
Hunter Sharp gave SVC a 1-0 lead with an unassisted score in the first quarter. The Bearcats made that goal hold up for a 1-0 lead after the first quarter of play. However, Transylvania scored four goals in the second quarter to take a 4-1 advantage into halftime.
The host Pioneers added another goal in the third quarter to take a 5-1 lead into the final quarter, where Transylvania put the game away with seven goals in the final quarter for the 12-1 victory.
Junior face-off man
John Wohlin won 9-14 face-offs and picked up a team-best five ground balls. Junior
Michael Grus tallied four ground balls and a team-high three caused turnovers.

Connor McMillen made six saves in goal for the Bearcats.
Despite the loss, the Bearcats advanced to the ORLC Championship game for the second time in three seasons.
