The Washington & Jefferson College Presidents scored three times in the first half, en route to a 3-0 win over the Bearcats in a conference men's soccer match at UPMC Field.
In the game's 7th minute, Michael DeSanto sent a cross into the box and it was placed into the net by Jake Fetterman, putting the visitors in front, 1-0. In the 29th minute, Matt Kotkiewicz stole the ball off a Bearcat defender and beat the SVC keeper one-on-one, making it 2-0. Late in the first half, the Presidents scored again, with Thomas Einolf scoring off a pass from Drew Williams.
SVC struggled to find a rhythm on offense throughout the day, as the team was outshot by a 19-1 margin in the first half, and 17-2 in the final 45 minutes.
W&J improves to 5-7-1 overall, 3-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with the win, while the Bearcats fall to 1-12-1, (0-4-1 PAC).
