BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 27) - The Saint Vincent men's soccer team wrapped up the 2018 season with a 3-1 road loss to Bethany College in a shortened Presidents' Athletic Conference game due to weather conditions.
The playoff bound Bison tallied a pair of first half goals en route to the victory. Jose Lujan scored off a pass from Jay O'Donnell in the 15th minute before Brad Turner tacked on an unassisted tally int he 37th minute. Bethany held SVC off the scoreboard during the first half for a 2-0 halftime edge.
Saint Vincent would not go quietly as
Ian Garay scored an unassisted goal in the 73rd minute of play. However, Bethany quickly answered with a score in the 74th minute to take a 3-1 advantage. The game was called less than two minutes later because of a soaked natural surface.
The Bearcats close 2018 with a 1-15-1 overall record and 0-6-1 in PAC play. Bethany locks up the #3 seed in the PAC Tournament at 7-8-3 overall and 4-2-1 in the league.
