The SVC men's soccer game lost to visiting Waynesburg University by a score of 1-0, with the lone goal scored just over two minutes into overtime.
The Yellow Jackets held the advantage in the first half, outshooting the Bearcats by a 10-3 margin, but SVC keeper
Zachary Gibbons made six saves in the first 45 minutes, keeping the game scoreless.
Nine minutes into the second half, a shot by Waynesburg's
David Brown hit the post, but it was as close as either team would get to a goal during regulation.
After 90 minutes, the game remained scoreless, sending the teams into overtime.
Just over two minutes into the first overtime period, a header by Waynesburg was blocked by the Bearcats and went out of bounds, resulting in a corner kick. Nate Kummer sent the kick into the box, where it was headed into the goal by Ryan Mills, lifting the visitors to the 1-0 victory.
For the game, Gibbons recorded 9 saves, as SVC was out-shot by a margin of 21-9.
The Bearcats fall to 1-3-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, while Waynesburg improves to 1-2-3. SVC is now 2-11-2 overall on the season. The team returns to action on Saturday, October 26, facing Westminster College in a road game. Â
