The Thiel Tomcats scored with 0.4 seconds left in regulation, and neither team scored in two overtime periods, as the Bearcats ended their season with a 2-2 tie.
The teams appeared evenly matched much of the way, with both teams taking turns with shots on goal and saves, but Saint Vincent eventually took the early lead, when
Cris White sent a corner kick into the box in the 32nd minute, where it was headed into the net by
Eduardo Richa.
Less than two minutes later, White scored an unassisted goal, sending a blast to the upper part of the net to make it a 2-0 Bearcat lead.
Midway through the second half, the Tomcats scored, when a shot that was blocked by SVC keeper
Zachary Gibbons still have enough speed and roll to find its way into the net.Â
The heartbreaking goal came with less than a second remaining in regulation, as Andreas Hogue Jonassen sent a shot into the top of the net, just out of Gibbons' reach, tying the game and sending it to overtime.
Neither team was able to score in the extra periods.
For the day, Saint Vincent held a 26-24 advantage in shots, while Gibbons made 14 saves.
Saint Vincent ends the season with a record of 2-13-3 overall, 1-5-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Thiel is now 0-14-3, 0-7-1 in the PAC.
