Hannah Irvine scored three goals to lead the Bearcat women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Thiel College in the final game of the season.
Irvine scored an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute to put SVC in front, 1-0, and the score remained that way through halftime.
Just under 15 minutes into the second half, the Bearcats had a 3-on-1 fast break opportunity.Â
Jessica Persin took the ball to the right side of the box, passed to
Maddy Mihalchik on her left, and Mihalchik one-touched the ball to Irvine, who scored her second goal to make it 2-0. Four minutes later,
Lauren May found Irvine in close range, and Irvine found the net for the third time in the game for a hat trick.
With just 15 minutes remaining in the game, Thiel got on the board with a goal by Nicole Pereksta, but it wasn't enough as the Bearcats held on for the 3-1 victory.
Abigail Johnson recorded 4 saves, going the distance in the net for the win.
Saint Vincent concludes the season with a record of 2-6 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, 2-14 overall. Thiel falls to 1-7 in the PAC, 6-12 overall.
