The Saint Vincent men's soccer team faced La Roche University on the road in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Redhawks defeated the Bearcats by a final of 6-0.
From the first whistle, La Roche took control of the game and scored th opening goal in the 15th minute off the foot of Kyle Harriett. 10 minutes later, Jake Gorman netted the second goal for the Redhawks. Harriett scored his second goal of the game from a penalty kick to give La Roche a 3-0 lead going into halftime. La Roche outshot SVC 7-5 in the opening half.
The second half was an exact replica of the first with the Redhawks scoring three goals as Harriett completed the hat trick. The Redhawks finished the match with nine shots while the Bearcats totaled eight. Freshman
Zachary Gibbons started in goal and played all 90 minutes in the loss.
The Bearcats drop to 0-4 and stay on the road as they travel to crosstown opponent, Pitt-Greensburg on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Start time is 4 p.m.
