The Saint Vincent men's tennis team rolled to a 7-2 victory against King's College in Orlando, Florida.
The Monarchs claimed the first doubles point of the match, an 8-2 decision at third doubles. In second doubles
Mauricio Sanchez and
Evan Ray raved out to a 7-4 lead before needing a tiebreaker to claim the point, 8-7(6).
Jon Oskin and
Josh Boland put the finishing touches on doubles with an 8-5 win at the top spot.
Sanchez claimed his first set at second singles, 6-1, before his opponent retired, giving SVC a 3-1 lead in the match. Boland cruised to 6-0, 6-0 win in the four hole before another retirement, this time at first singles, clinched the match for the Bearcats. Also winning in straight sets for Saint Vincent we're Ray and
Aaron Kuhn at fifth and sixth singles respectively.Â
The Bearcats now own a 2-0 record on the year and will return to Pennsylvania for the remainder of their season. SVC will return tod action on Friday, March 13 when they face off against crosstown rival Pitt-Greensburg.
