The Saint Vincent men's tennis team opened their season with a hard-fought Presidents' Athletic Conference win over Geneva, 6-3.

The Bearcats took an early lead in doubles, as
Evan Ray and
Aaron Kuhn secured an 8-0 victory at third doubles followed by an 8-3 win from the pairing of
David Lynn and
Mauricio Sanchez at first doubles. The Golden Tornadoes claimed the final doubles point, 8-5.

With a 2-1 lead heading into single it was Ray and Kuhn again striking first for SVC with quick straight sets wins at fifth and sixth singles respectively. Geneva closed the gap with a win at third singles, but it was quickly answered with a decisive win by Sanchez, 6-1, 6-2, at second singles.
Josh Boland came from behind in both sets to post the final point for Saint Vincent with a 6-4, 6-4, win at fourth single.

Saint Vincent's win gives them a mark of 1-0 (1-0 PAC) to open the Spring season. The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, March 27 at 3:00 pm for a PAC matchup against the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets.
