The Saint Vincent College women's lacrosse welcomed Thiel College for a Presidents' Athletic Conference contest. The Bearcats fell to the Tomcats, 15-12.
Thiel (6-2, 4-2) opened the scoring just 1:10 into the first. Joey scored the equalizer for Saint Vincent.
Bridget Doyle then added a goal of her own to take a 2-1 lead.
The Tomcats then added two more goals to regain a one-goal (3-2) edge.
The Bearcats followed with goals from
Kaylee Bandow,
Margaret Edwards,
Hannah-Marie Starner and
Lucy Volna to open a 6-3 lead.
Thiel pulled within one (6-5) before Bandow scored her second of the game with an assist to
Joey Smith. The visitors added a goal in the final minute of the first half to trail 7-6.
Doyle scored the first goal of the second half to give SVC an 8-6 lead. The Tomcats scored three-consecutive goals to recapture the lead, 9-8.
Volna tied the game at nine before Thiel scored its 10th of the contest. Smith evened the game at 10 with a man-up goal but the Tomcats rattled off three-straight to lead 13-10.
Volna and Smith completed their hat tricks as SVC only trailed by one (13-12). Thiel closed out the contest with two goals to win by three (15-12).
Smith finished with five points (3G, 2A) while Volna (3G) and Doyle (2G, 1A) tallied three points.
Kyra Lipetzky played all 60 minutes in net and made 16 saves.
Saint Vincent concludes the 2021 with record of 5-6 overall and a PAC record of 2-4.
