The Saint Vincent men's bowling team traveled to Columbus, Ohio and finished 8th among 17 teams in the American Heartland Tournament, held at HP Lanes.

The Bearcats opened the day with a team game of 878, led by Josh Marks with a 201.  Brandon Dunmire finished with a 195, while Michael Fekete shot 190.  In game two, freshman Nate Horton opened the game with 5 strikes on his first 6 shots, ending with a 199, while Dunmire ended the game with 6 strikes in a row en route to a team-high 228.  Dunmire again led the team in game three with a 198.  

Game four was the Bearcats' top game of the day, totaling 1007.  Dunmire finished with a 226, while Fekete (209) and Anthony Strickland (201) also topped the 200 mark.  Alex Colecchia and Josh Marks combined to shoot a 186, while Garrett Contee added a 185.

The final half of the day consisted of 16 Baker-format team games.  SVC started the first block with a 225, eventually posting a team average of 191, rising from 10th to 8th in the final standings.  

Dunmire finished 11th overall in the tournament with a 4-game traditional total of 857, an average of 214.  Marks put in a strong performance in Baker play, averaging 23.59 per frame, a game equivalent of 235.9.  

Overall for the day, Marks had the top average of 20.89 per frame (208.9), while Dunmire finished at 20.03.  Fekete was third on the squad at 19.09.

SVC will be back in action on Saturday, February 5, traveling to Coshocton, Ohio for the Muskie Mash, hosted by Muskingum University.
