BEAVER FALLS, Pa (Oct. 1)- The Saint Vincent College men's soccer team traveled to Geneva College, where they fell in the match by a score of 2-1.

In the first half, the Golden Tornadoes controlled their ball in their offensive zone for the majority of the half. Despite, Geneva controlling the ball for most of the half, the game remained scoreless as neither team was able to find the back of the net.

The game went to the half tied after Saint Vincent goalie,
Kameron Rock played a strong first half in net, shutting out the Golden Tornadoes. Geneva outshot the Bearcats in the half by a margin of 7-4. SVC committed just three fouls in the half, compared to Geneva's five. Both the Bearcats and Golden Tornadoes made two saves in the half.

Geneva had five corner kicks in the half and SVC had just two. Both teams had one yellow card each in the half as well.

In the second half, it was much of the same story. The Golden Tornadoes held the ball in their offensive end for the majority of the half.

Just six minutes into the half, Geneva scored first, as Kyle Lapoure scored for the Golden Tornadoes, giving them a 1-0 lead. Saint Vincent responded with a goal of their own just over seven minutes later.
Kevin Amouzou scored the lone goal of the game for SVC, tying the game up at 1-1, with 32-minutes remaining in the half.

The Golden Tornadoes once again took advantage of controlling the ball in their offensive end. Antonio Fiordilino scored what would be the game-winner for Geneva, just three minutes after Amouzou's goal for the Bearcats, giving the Golden Tornadoes a 2-1 lead.

In the remaining 29-minutes Geneva continued to pressure the Bearcats on their offensive end, but the Bearcats defense held strong, not allowing the Golden Tornadoes to score. Saint Vincent had a couple of their own opportunities in the middle and late portions of the second half but were unable to capitalize as the Golden Tornadoes came away with the 2-1 win.

Joel Quiroz Mansilla recorded the assist on the lone goal for the Bearcats.
Antonio Mendes recorded three shots on goal in the loss for the Bearcats.
Marko Kasiyan recorded two shots off the bench for Saint Vincent.
Eduardo Richa recorded two shots for the Bearcats as well.

In the match, the Bearcats were outshot by a margin of 13-8. Saint Vincent had three corners in the game, compared to six for Golden Tornadoes.

Saint Vincent returns to action on Monday, October 3 for a non-conference matchup at home against Carlow University. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. at UPMC Field.
