The Saint Vincent men's bowling team got off to a strong start in the Orange & Black Classic, hosted by Pikeville University, but finished 14th out of 21 teams by the end of the two-day event held in Beavercreek, Ohio.
Brandon Dunmire and
James Gatto led the team in day one, competing in five traditional games. Dunmire finished 12th overall with an average of 204.8, posting a high game of 224. Gatto was 36th with a high of 221 and an average of 192.Â
Alex Vickers had the highest game of the day for the Bearcats, shooting a 243, while
Michael Fekete added a 225 and
Garrett Contee had a 206 game.
On day two, the team competed in 16 Baker team games.Â
Eddie Zuzak had a team-best 19.64 per frame average, a game equivalent of 196.4. Contee was second at 18.64, while Dunmire averaged 18.27.
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, October 22 in Columbus, Ohio, in an Ohio Bowling Conference tournament. Â
