STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (Oct. 15)- The Saint Vincent women's soccer team traveled to Franciscan, where the Bearcats fell to the Barons 8-2 in Steubenville.

The Bearcats got off to a great start as
Jude Galvin scored for SVC 20-seconds into the match, giving Saint Vincent an early 1-0 lead. The Barons answered scoring the next two goals, about 6-minutes apart from each other.

Tanisha Grewal responded for the Bearcats tying the high-scoring match up at 2-2 just over 18-minutes into the second half.
Bella Ely picked up the assist on Grewal's goal for Saint Vincent.

Franciscan's high-powered offense took control in the match. The Barons scored the final four goals of the first half, holding the Bearcats scoreless in the final 23-minutes of the half, taking a 6-2 lead at the halftime break.

The high-scoring offense of the Barons continued in the second half, as the Barons scored two more goals in the half. Saint Vincent was held scoreless in the entirety of the second half, as Franciscan came away with the 8-2 victory.

As a team, Saint Vincent recorded six shots, including three shots on goal. The Bearcats also made eight saves, while recording four corner kicks and five fouls compared to seven fouls from Franciscan.

Along with her assists, Ely recorded two shots, including one shot on goal. Galvin scored on her lone shot of the day and Grewal compiled two shots along with her goal scored.

The Bearcats return to action on Wednesday, October 19 when they play host to Allegheny College in a PAC match. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. at UPMC Field.
