The Saint Vincent men's bowling team got off to a quick start and finished third among 17 teams in the second Ohio Bowling Conference tournament of the season, held at The Palace in Columbus, Ohio.

The Bearcats averaged 220 per bowler in the first game of the event, for a team score of 1100, good enough to put them in first place to start the day.  Senior Eddie Zuzak led the way with a 234 game, while freshman James Gatto shot 223.  Both are graduates of Greater Latrobe High School.  Brandon Dunmire (222), Michael Fekete (215) and Alex Vickers (205) completed the Bearcat lineup.

In game two, Dunmire had the top score at 246, while Gatto added a 225 and Zuzak finished at 201.  In game three, Zuzak threw strikes on 9 of his final 10 shots to finish with a 238, while Fekete shot a 232 game.  

The Bearcats were led in game 4 by Zuzak and Vickers.  Zuzak threw 9 strikes en route to a 256 game, while Vickers struck on 8 of his first 9 frames, finishing with a 254.  Fekete added a 214.

Zuzak's four-game total of 929, an average of 232.5 per game, earned him All-Tournament team honors, as he was third overall.  Vickers finished 19th with an average of 211, as all five Bearcat starters finished in the top-30 on the varsity side. The team average was 210.

The format then shifted to team Baker games, and the Bearcats continued to throw well, averaging 198 in Baker play to hold onto a top-3 team finish.

SVC returns to action in the inaugural Bobcat Baker Classic, hosted by Pitt-Greensburg, on November 5-6.  It will be the first local tournament of the season for the team, as it will be held at Hillview Lanes in Greensburg.
