SVC men's team finishes third at Cavalier Classic

The SVC men's bowling team concluded the regular season with a third place finish among six teams in the Cavalier Classic, hosted by Walsh University at Riviera Lanes in Fairlawn, Ohio.

The team sat in fourth place after four traditional events, with team scores of 991, 944, 942 and 983.  In the first game, Eddie Zuzak and Anthony Strickland each shot 227, while Brandon Dunmire added a 206.  Strickland added a 223 in game two.  Josh Marks led the team in game three with a 204, while Zuzak added a 201.  In game four, Dunmire shot a team-high 256, and Michael Fekete added a 224.  The team averaged 193 per game as a group.  Zuzak averaged 199.25, and Strickland averaged 199 over five games for the Bearcats, while Dunmire averaged 214.5 for three games and Fekete averaged 195.6 for three games.

The format shifted to Baker team games, a trio of 5-game blocks, and Saint Vincent averaged 187.7 for 15 games to advance to third place.

Saint Vincent will now await the final results of other weekend tournaments to see if the team remains in the top-80 in the nation in points, which would earn the team a bid to the Intercollegiate Team Championship Sectionals, hosted by the United States Bowling Congress.  On March 26, the team will compete in the season-ending Ohio Bowling Conference Championship.
