HILTON HEAD, S.C. (March 2) – The Saint Vincent men's tennis team opened its 2022 spring campaign with a 9-0 loss to a strong Hanover College squad.
Despite the 9-0 score, the Bearcats were involved in number of competitive matches throughout the day.
In doubles play, the tandems of
Mauricio Sanchez/
David Lynn and
Jack Citrone/
Aaron Kuhn each fell by 8-5 scores, while
Jon Oskin/
Josh Boland were defeated 8-3.
In singles play, both Sanchez and Boland were edged in the third set. In the number-two spot, Sanchez fell 6-4, 7-6, 1-0 (10-7), while Boland dropped his decision at sixth singles 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (10-4). In the number-five position,
Evan Ray was defeated 6-4, 7-6.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Thursday, March 3, taking on Bridgewater College at 9 a.m. in Hilton Head.
