WOOSTER, Ohio (Mar. 9) - The Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team traveled to Wooster, Ohio to face Wooster in a non-conference matchup. The Bearcats fell on the road, 22-4.
Wooster (4-0) got off to a hot start, scoring eight unanswered goals over the first eight minutes of play, before
Joey Smith scored the first goal for the Bearcats (1-1) with 5:06 left in the first quarter. The Fighting Scots would then add to their lead throughout the second quarter, eventually taking a 12-1 lead at the half.Â
Saint Vincent would score three goals in the fourth quarter, with one from Smith and two from
Rachel Thatcher.
Maggie Edwards corralled five ground balls to lead the Bearcats, while also posting a team-high six draw controls.
Juliana Tambellini made nine saves in her first career start in goal.
Saint Vincent will be back in action on Friday, March 11, with a 4 p.m. non-conference bout at Lancaster Bible College.Â
