EBENSBURG, Pa. (April 24) – The Saint Vincent men's tennis team closed out the 2021-22 regular season with a pair of dominant victories to sweep non-conference foe Mount Aloysius in the Sunday doubleheader.
The Bearcats won by scores of 8-1 and 7-2 to move their record to 13-5 on the season, tying the 2018-19 squad for most single-season victories.
In the first match of the day, the Bearcats started with three quick victories in doubles, as the pairs of

David Lynn,
Jon Oskin/
Mauricio Sanchez and
Brian Lee/
Aaron Kuhn all won by 8-0 scores.
Saint Vincent then won five of six singles matches. Oskin was first off the court after claiming a 6-0, 6-0 win in the #2 spot, before Sanchez clinched the match win for SVC with a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the #3 spot.
Jack Citrone earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory at #4, improving to 12-2 on the season with his 10th straight singles win, while Brennan Novotney picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win in the #6 spot and
Sam Butler closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #5.
The Bearcats took two of three doubles wins to open up the second match of the day, with Oskin and Sanchez and Citrone/
Evan Ray each winning by 8-1 scores. Oskin's win was the 80
th combined victory for his career, tying current SVC assistant coach Zach Fox for the most all-time in program history.
Saint Vincent then went 5-for-6 in singles play. Boland and Kuhn each won by 6-0, 6-0 scores at the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, before
Andres Mateos Carrion clinched the SVC win with his first victory of the season at #6, as he took the first set, 6-4, before his opponent retired.
In the #2 spot,
Matthew Sadusky claimed a 6-3, 6-1 win, while Ray closed it out for the Bearcats with a 6-3, 6-3 win in the three hole.
Saint Vincent will now prep for this week's Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. The third-seeded Bearcats will host their first round matchup, with the time, date and opponent to be announced.
