Billet, Condrasky reach milestones as Bearcats roll on Senior Day

LATROBE, Pa. (April 30)- Behind a season-high in goals and a pair of major milestones for two teammates, the Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team cruised to a 25-1 win over Franciscan on Senior Day at UPMC Field.

Graduate student Tyler Condrasky and junior Jordan Billet each eclipsed the 100-point marks for their careers, while the 25 goals mark the most in a game for the Bearcats since they scored a program-record 32 in a win over Earlham on April 14, 2018.

Billet and Condrasky each recorded their milestone points in a two-minute span in the second quarter. Entering the game with 97 career points, Billet recorded his 100th with an assist on a Condrasky goal with 3:14 left in the second frame. Condrasky, who entered the game with 95 career points, recorded his fifth point of the quarter with an assist to Andrew Coholic with 57 seconds left in the quarter.

Billet (2 goals, 3 assists) and Condrasky (3 goals, 2 assists) each finished the afternoon with five points. Three other teammates recorded at least five points, led by freshman Justin Wodarek, who recorded a career-high nine points, on three goals and six assists. Jacob Visali and Andrew Coholic each picked up five points, as well. Visali scored three goals with two assists, and Coholic scored four goals with two assists.

Matthew Cassidy and Caleb Hawkins also got in on the high-offensive output for the Bearcats, each scoring four points. Cassidy picked up four assists and Hawkins scored one goal with three assists.

Jacob Crumling and Sean Fehrenbach each scored goals as well with two assists in the win for Saint Vincent. Cameron Masten recorded three points as well, with three assists.

Nick Carter and Noah Sperling split the game in goal for the Bearcats. Carter played the first half, giving up one goal, before giving way to Sperling in the second half, who shut out the Barons in the second half, recording three saves.

Brady Beard went 13-15 for the Bearcats in the faceoff circle, while recording a team best 10 ground balls. Colin Cooper recorded nine ground balls, while going 9-11 in the faceoff circle.

Wodarek and Brody McMahon each had four ground balls, while McMahon finished with two caused turnovers. The tenacious Bearcat defense limited the Barons to just eight shots and forced 18 Franciscan turnovers, with nine different SVC players recording at least one caused turnover.

It was all Bearcats from the beginning, as they scored 17 first half goals, scoring seven in the first quarter, followed by a 10 goal second quarter. The Saint Vincent defense was strong too as the Bearcats allowed just one Franciscan goal in the first half, finding themselves with a 17-1 lead at the half.

It was much of the same story in the second half, Saint Vincent shutout the Barons in the second half, outscoring them 8-0 to pick up the 25-1 victory in their regular season finale.

Following the game, the Saint Vincent senior class of Condrasky, Sperling, Ethan Cavin, Max Schuler, Alec Richard, Casey Moore and James Carden were honored for their careers in an on-field Senior Day ceremony.

The Bearcats close the regular season with a 12-1 record and 6-1 PAC mark, and have earned the #2 seed in the upcoming PAC Championship Tournament. Saint Vincent will play host to #3 seed Westminster College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, at UPMC Field.
