LATROBE, Pa (Sept. 24)- The Saint Vincent women's soccer team hosted Washington and Jefferson on Saturday afternoon, where the Bearcats and Presidents played to a 0-0 draw.

It was a tightly contested game throughout, as both SVC and W&J battled in their respective offensive ends with chances to score, but neither was able to capitalize.

The Presidents out shot Saint Vincent 13-12 in the game. The Bearcats were out shot 5-3 in the first half and followed that up outshooting W&J 9-8 in the second half. Just as the game went, the teams had an even amount of saves at 6-6 in the entirety of the game.

Washington and Jefferson had six corner kicks, compared to Saint Vincent's two corner kicks. There were only four total fouls in the game, two for each team.

Jude Galvin had three shots, one being a shot on goal in the draw for the Bearcats.
Tanisha Grewal also had three shots, two shots on goal, while
Brooke Garman added two shots on goal. Off the bench,
Madisen Geesaman had one shot on goal for Saint Vincent.

Madison Arnold played all 90-minutes in goal for Saint Vincent, making six saves in the draw for the Bearcats.

In the first half, Grewal dribbled into the Saint Vincent offensive end, and rung a shot off of the right post, just inches away from giving the Bearcats their first goal. The Presidents also had a couple of chances to score in the first half, the SVC defense and Arnold held strong in goal as the game went to the half scoreless.

In the second half, just as the first half, it started out very similar, as both teams possessed the ball in their offensive end. Late in the second half both teams had opportunities to score. First, Grewal had a shot that was met by a diving save by W&J goalie, Gabriella Lloyd.

Grewal followed it up with another shot, that was again saved by Lloyd. After an offsides by Saint Vincent, W&J's Sydney Hoover rushed up field, putting a shot on goal that was saved by Arnold, to seal the draw as time expired.

Saint Vincent returns to action on Tuesday, September 24 when they play host to Waynesburg University for another President's Athletic Conference matchup. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at UPMC Field.
