GROVE CITY, Pa. (Oct. 21) – The Saint Vincent women's soccer team saw its eight-game unbeaten streak come to a close with a 1-0 loss at Presidents' Athletic Conference-leading Grove City College.
The match between two of the top teams in the PAC was scoreless until the 81st minute, when the Wolverines (11-4-1, 8-0-1 PAC) netted what proved to be the game-winner.
The goal, by Emma Herrmann, was scored just moments after a 7-minute spell in which the Bearcats received a number of scoring chances, as they racked up two corner kicks and four shots on goal between the 67th and 74th minutes, but Wolverine Courtney Lisman kept the SVC offense at bay.
Grove City took 19 total shot attempts to Saint Vincent's eight, while the Wolverines recorded eight shots on goal to the Bearcats' five.
Saint Vincent goalkeeper
Madison Arnold recorded seven saves, with five coming in the second half.
Tanisha Grewal topped SVC with five shots, including three on goal.
Before setting their sights on the upcoming PAC Championship Tournament, the Bearcats will have one final regular season tune-up, hosting Chatham on Senior Night on Tuesday, Oct. 24, under the lights at UPMC Field.
