INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Led by an All-Tournament performance by freshman
James Gatto, the Bearcat men's bowling team finished second among 10 teams in the Muskie Mash, hosted by Muskingum University, in Coshocton, Ohio.
The Bearcats got off to a slow start for the day, shooting scores of 879 and 889 in the first two games. Gatto was tops in game one with a 211 score, while
Michael Fekete shot a 193.
Alex Vickers led the way in the second game at 206.
The team stepped it up in game three, with a trio of 200+ performances.Â
Garrett Contee led the scoresheet with a 223, followed by Fekete (220) and Gatto (209). In game four, the Bearcats topped the 1000 mark (200 per game average), shooting 1002.Â
Brandon Dunmire shot a 256, while Gatto finished with a 201. In the fifth and final traditional game, Vickers led the team with a 214 and Dunmire shot a 201, as the team shot a total of 918. Â
Saint Vincent averaged 180 in 12 Baker team games, holding on for second place by a 9-pin margin. Muskingum won the event with a team score of 7245, with SVC (6853) holding off Tusculum University (6844).
Individually, Gatto finished 5th among the field of 71 bowlers, averaging 198.8 for the day. Dunmire was eighth (194.8), and Vickers was 14th (185.8). Â
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, February 11 in the Ohio Bowling Conference Championship, the next-to-last event of the year for the team.
