The Saint Vincent men's bowling team hit the road to Coshocton, Ohio, for the Muskie Mash, hosted by Muskingum University. The team finished 4th
out of 10 teams.
The format for the event was 5 traditional team games.
In game one, the Bearcats got off to a slow start, shooting a 780. Leading the way were sophomore
Ryan Schuck and junior Domnick Spence, who shot 173 and 172, respectively. Game two was an improvement from the opening game, as SVC shot an 835 total, with senior
Brandon Dunmire shooting a 192, while junior
James Gatto put a 185 on the scoresheet for the Bearcats.
Going to game 3, the Bearcats needed to put up a big total to get them back into the hunt. The team responded with a 901 and was led by Gatto with a 212, and freshman
Michael Marts with a 181.
The team in game four shot 40 pins below game 3 with an 861. The freshman tandems of Michael's led the way for the Bearcats, as
Michael Mullaney shot a 194 game, and Marts put up a 186.
Game 5 was the position round where SVC was bowling fellow OBC member Ohio Northern University; SVC shot their highest set of the tournament in the final game with a 978. Dunmire, Schuck, and Gatto led the team with a combined 641 (224,214,203) among the three.
Gatto led the Bearcats all day with a 185.2 average, where he made the All-Tournament Team. Dunmire paced the way with a 178.4 average, and Mullaney with a 175.6
The Bearcats will be back in action on November 16th, as they travel to Columbus, Ohio for Ohio Bowling Conference Tournament #3.
