LATROBE, Pa. (Feb. 24) – The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team was defeated on the road by Wooster, 18-7 in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.
Jacob Crumling and
Liam McCall both scored two goals to lead the Bearcats (0-2). Crumling also picked up an assist in the loss as well.
Caleb Hawkins,
Jordan Billet, and
Justin Wodarek scored the other three SVC goals, while Wodarek also added two assists for the three-point day.
In goal,
Garrett Ritts took the loss, recording 14 saves.
Colin Cooper led Saint Vincent with three ground balls, while
Robbie Abraham,
Benjamin Wohlin,
Bernard Farnan, and Crumling all scooped up two.
Billet recorded a team-high two caused turnovers, with R.J. Kenna and A.J. Bricker each credited with one apiece.
Wooster (2-0) outshot Saint Vincent by a 51-24 margin, while forcing 27 SVC turnovers. Saint Vincent also forced 24 Wooster turnovers.
The Fighting Scots were led by Ben Byars and Will Fink who each scored three goals, while four others score two goals each.
The Bearcats will take the next week off, before hosting Wittenberg in their home-opener on Saturday, March 2. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. at UPMC Field.
