CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (March 13) – The Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team was unable to recover from a sluggish start, falling to Wilson College in a non-conference matchup.
The host Phoenix (3-1) scored 10 first quarter goals, and the deficit proved too large for the Bearcats in the 18-3 defeat.
Carolina Walters scored two of the Bearcats' three goals, with
Bailey Nicely also tallying a multi-point game, with one goal and one assist.
Defensively,
Gabby Salandro led SVC with two caused turnovers, while Walters,
Alexandria Votovich,
Brianna Mack,
Kloe Templeton each recording one caused turnover. Mack led SVC with three ground balls, while Walters, Votovich and
Lena Coyne collected two apiece.
Kyra Lipetzky went the distance in goal for SVC and recorded 12 saves.
The Bearcats will have a weeklong layoff before returning to action on Wednesday, March 20, with a 4 p.m. home non-conference matchup against Muskingum at UPMC Field.
