GROVE CITY, Pa. (April 25) – The Saint Vincent College men's tennis team saw its season come to a close with a 5-0 loss at Grove City College in the semifinals of the 2024 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament.
The Bearcats, who advanced to the PAC semis for the fifth consecutive season, close the season at 15-7, with the 15 wins tying a program single-season record.
The Wolverines (13-6) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play, with both the Bearcats' No. 1 (
Matthew Sadusky/
Brady Johnson) and No. 2 (
Josh Havrilla/
Braden Yokopenic) falling by 8-3 scores, and the No. 3 pairing of
August Lawrence and
Jack Citrone defeated by an 8-2 score.
Grove City would then close out the victory with wins at No. 1 and No. 4 singles.
Along with making their fifth trip to the PAC semis, the Bearcats have now recorded 10 or more wins in three straight seasons, and four of the last six, with the lone two exceptions the COVID-abbreviated 2020 and 2021 campaigns.
